| Q: | What
is Yoga?
|
| A: |
Yoga, as
defined by the dictionary, is a system of exercises practiced as part of the
Hindu discipline to promote control of the body and mind. To put that into more understandable terms,
yoga is a way to keep the body fit in order to sit for long periods of time in
meditation to achieve a higher state of consciousness. Some
of the other benefits of yoga practice are increased flexibility and the development
of long lean muscles to keep us strong and healthy. Yoga also helps us to tune
in to our bodies and find that place of inner peace and a quiet mind which
helps to reduce stress.
